vida da população carente no Brasil. Conheça os projetos apoiados no ano de 2008:<br><br> <b>Projetos na área educacional</b><br><br> <li><b>Programa  Parceiros Vitae de Apoio ao Ensino Técnico e Agrotécnico:</b> <br> Criado pela Vitae  Apoio à Cultura, Educação e Promoção Social, o programa visa implementar e difundir projetos de modernização curricular e tecnológica em escolas de ensino técnico e agrotécnico. Em 2008, o Itaú BBA apoiou esse programa com uma verba. Os Parceiros Vitae são constituídos por Itaú BBA, Vitae, Fundação Itaú Social, Fundação Lemann, Instituto Unibanco e FAT. <br><br> <li><b>Programa Parceiros da Educação: </b><br> Trata-se de uma parceria entre empresas e escolas públicas que tem como objetivo contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade do ensino, beneficiando educadores e estudantes. O Itaú BBA passou a integrar esse programa no final de 2008, quando assinou protocolo de intenções com a Associação de Pais e Mestres de duas escolas estaduais de São Paulo: Romeu de Moraes e Professor Manoel Ciridião Buarque. Em 2008, foi destinada verba para o trabalho de levantamento das necessidades de infraestrutura e pedagógicas das escolas. <br><br> <b>Apoio à comunidade</b><br><br> <li><b>Associação de Assistência à Criança Cardíaca e à Transplantada do Coração (ACTC): </b></li><br> Atende crianças portadoras de doenças cardíacas graves, acompanhadas de suas mães/acompanhantes, provenientes de todo o Brasil e de países vizinhos, para tratamento no Instituto do Coração, em São Paulo. Em 2008, o Itaú BBA destinou verba à ACTC, o que possibilitou à entidade oferecer atendimento a mais de mil crianças, com respectivos acompanhantes.<br><br> <li><b>Instituto São Paulo Contra a Violência:</b></li><br> Em 2008, o Itaú BBA doou R$ 120 mil ao Instituto. Uma das principais melhorias realizadas pelo instituto nesse ano foi a digitalização do Disque-Denúncia, número telefônico utilizado pela população para a prevenção de crimes. A digitalização permitiu que a capacidade de atendimento, análise e encaminhamento das denúncias passasse da média de 9 mil, nos seis meses que antecederam a mudança, para 14 mil, nos seis meses seguintes.<br><br> <li><b>Alfabetização Solidária: </b></li><br> Programa que permite o acesso de jovens e adultos aos ciclos regulares do Ensino Fundamental. Em 2008, o Itaú BBA destinou verba que contribuiu para a formação de mil alunos e 40 professores, em quatro municípios da Região Nordeste. O valor contempla, ainda, o Projeto Ver, que realiza exames oftalmológicos e distribui óculos aos alunos.<br><br> <li><b>Acaia Sagarana: </b></li><br> Apoio e incentivo a jovens de baixa renda que têm bom rendimento escolar. Em 2008, foram atendidos jovens que receberam aulas de Língua Portuguesa, Matemática, História, Geografia, Física,Química e Biologia. O Itaú BBA doou verba ao Instituto Acaia. Nesse ano, 12 alunos, após exame, ganharam bolsa de estudo integral no curso pré-vestibular Anglo.<br><br> <li><b>Fundo de Bolsas da Fundação Getulio Vargas: </b></li><br> Programa de crédito educativo que,com o recebimento de recursos do banco, auxilia alunos do curso de Administração de Empresas a pagar os estudos. Em 2008,o Itaú BBA destinou verba ao Fundo de Bolsas da FGV.<br><br> <li><b>Assessoria Vera Cruz a Instituições Educacionais: </b></li><br> O Itaú BBA destinou verba para projetos que atenderam 780 crianças, do berçário até a 4.ª série (350 de educação infantil e 430 do Ensino Fundamental), 92 professores (80 de educação infantil e 12 de Ensino Fundamental) e oito coordenadores pedagógicos e diretores.<br><br> <li><b>Arco  Associação Beneficente: </b></li><br> Oferece educação para crianças e jovens, de 0 a 22anos, na periferia de São Paulo. Em 2008, o Itaú BBA doou verba à entidade. O valor possibilitou o apoio a dois projetos: Inclusão Digital e Arte em Madeira.<br><br> <b>Outros investimentos sociais </b><br><br> <li><b>Instituto Brasil Solidário: </b></li><br> Organização sem fins lucrativos que tem como princípio o desenvolvimento de programas sociais em comunidades desfavorecidas e com baixo índice de desenvolvimento humano. Em 2008, o Itaú BBA destinou verba para o Instituto Brasil Solidário realizar ações sociais e ambientais em comunidades carentes por onde passaram os competidores do Rally dos Sertões.<br><br> <li><b>Praça Victor Civita: </b></li><br> O Itaú BBA contribuiu com verba para a construção da praça, na zona oeste de São Paulo. O terreno estava contaminado por metais pesados, além de outras substâncias tóxicas, resultantes da queima de resíduos domiciliares e hospitalares realizada no local durante 40 anos. O Grupo Abril e órgãos públicos responsáveis encontraram uma solução economicamente viável e ecologicamente sustentável para reabilitar a área para uso público, sem oferecer nenhum risco aos visitantes.
